Who We Are
E.N.E.R.G.Y.
ENERGY: Greek έvέpy6ς, energos, "active, working, alive, dynamic"
Our mission and vision will be accomplished by living according to the CORE VALUES that speak to our spiritual, physical and emotional responsibilities. These values are the foundation of our local church and provide the base for launching ministry to our congregation and community.
ndless Mission
We value people and believe that all people are valuable to God. We value outreach to others and believe that God has entrusted us with a mission to do all we can to enable others to hear and experience the Gospel in a relevant, Spirit inspired, non-coercive way.
This means that we will train, equip, and resource gifted and enabled people to effectively lead and accomplish the work of local and global missions. Matthew 4:19; Luke 5:30-32; Matthew 28:19-20
ew Life in Christ
We value the person and priorities of Jesus Christ as being at the centre of all ministry, mission and relationships.
We value Biblical Preaching and Teaching. The Old and New Testaments are our final authority rather than traditions. We rely on the Holy Spirit who enables us to be innovative, creative and flexible provided we do not violate scripture.
This means that we will strive to experience, model, teach, and encourage New Life in Christ as the foundational way of living. 1 Corinthians 3:11; Matthew 28:18; John 14:6
nvironments
We value environments that facilitate partnerships, mentoring and servant leadership. By Environments we mean the spiritual and relational atmosphere in which our activities take place. We believe that we are responsible to provide contexts where authentic Christian spiritual life can be experienced and lived out.
This means that we will intentionally work to create venues where people can discover and experience the presence of God in an authentic relational way. Ephesians 4:12
elationships
We value building and maintaining relationships that develops and sustains outstanding followers of Christ.
We believe that all key activity in the Kingdom of God happens as a result of healthy relationships. We only succeed as individuals when we work together as a family.
This means that, as a family of believers in relationship, we will place high value on one another, and upon each member's role and take responsibility for their personal growth and for the growth of the body of Christ.
2 Timothy 1:5; Ephesians 4:29; 1 Corinthians 12:12-17
odly Leadership
We value accountability, honesty, and integrity in the lives our leaders. We value a team environment, where people are inspired to be motivated, involved, and confident in their calling and purpose in Christ.
We believe that the primary responsibility of our leaders is to "prepare God's people for works of service." This means that ministry and leadership will be placed, as much as possible, in the hands of non- vocational workers.
Together we will accomplish this by recruiting, resourcing, releasing and rewarding those who we recognize as having a proven ministry. Ephesians 4:12
outh and Children
We value the immense importance that Christ placed on the care of children. We value the opportunity we have to make a positive, eternal impact in the lives of youth and children as well as support the families that they represent.
We recognize the lasting importance and life long impact of the decisions being made in these formative years.
This means that we will strive to offer children and youth in this church access to the resources, supports, challenges and opportunities that will enable them to overcome life barriers and achieve their full kingdom potential in Christ. Matthew 18:5-6
